A drug addict was warned by a sheriff that he could be jailed for three years if he failed to take a final chance to sort out his life.
Jason Cochrane, 25, of 4 Hilditch Terrace, Carrbridge admitted illegally possessing 423 diazepam tablets in Farraline Park, Inverness, on August 21 this year.
The court heard that Cochrane, who admitted previous convictions, appeared from custody the following day and was released.
But he was re-arrested the same day when he was found with the same drug at his house.
Fiscal depute Ruaraidh MacAllister said: “Around 1,000 tablets were found in packages similar to the one used for the tablets found in Cochrane’s possession the day before.”
Cochrane also admitted being concerned in the supply of the class C drug at his home on August 22.
Defence lawyer Graham Mann said: “He returned home and police arrived to search the premises and found more diazepam tablets. He is an addict and has been placed on a previous drug treatment and testing order (DTTO) but failed to complete it.
“However there is a motivation there now and he would welcome the chance of another one.”
Ordering Cochrane to undergo a 30 month DTTO, the sheriff told him: “You will be strictly monitored and have to undergo four weekly reviews. If you mess up, you could go to jail for the order of three years.”
