Happy campers headed home yesterday after another successful Belladrum Festival.

The Kaiser Chiefs brought this year’s event to a spectacular climax with a rendition of their hit, I Predict a Riot.

The Garden Stage was packed as the band performed their back catalogue, and their set finished with the traditional fireworks display to officially end the three-day event.

But revellers partied into the night around the site at Kiltarlity.

Organiser Joe Gibbs praised the crowd as “definitely the happiest, most friendly relaxed audience I have ever seen”.

He added: “The Kaiser Chiefs were consummate showmen and produced a rousing send-off for the festival.”

He said that singer Eddi Reader was also among his highlights for her “astounding” performance.

Friday night included a crowd-pleasing set from Garden Stage headliners the Manic Street Preachers in front of a packed audience.

With a stage decked in Welsh flags, the rockers produced a set packed with hits from their career, which now spans more than three decades.

Frontman James Dean Bradfield thanked organiser Joe Gibbs for inviting the band to “this beautiful part of the world” before signing off with Design for Life and urging the Bella crowd to “destroy, but in the nice way”.

Before them on the main stage were influential Scottish indie band Idlewild who also drew a sizeable crowd for their set.

One of the big hits elsewhere were Hayseed Dixie, who packed out the Black Isle Brewery Grassroots stage, with fans watching from outside the tent as the band played their unique blend of classic rock tracks and bluegrass.
