An Inverness man who was killed following a road traffic collision on a Highland road at the weekend has been named.

Kyle Robertson died in a two-vehicle road collision on the A835 near Garve on Sunday afternoon.

The 20-year-old from Smithton, was driving a Seat Leon when he collided with a white Audi S3 about a mile east of Garve.

The road was closed until 11.30pm to allow for a collision investigation to be carried out at the scene.

Sergeant Chris Murray, of the road policing unit, said: “Our thoughts remain with Kyle’s family and friends at this difficult time and ask that their privacy is respected.

“Our inquiries into this tragic incident are ongoing and I would like to thank the members of the public who have already come forward.

“I would also like to ask anyone who has any information, or dash cam footage, who has not already spoken to us makes contact as soon as possible.

“We are also seeking a key witness to the collision who may have been driving a dark green van, I believe this individual may have some vital information that would assist the enquiry.
