An 18-year-old fisherman was winched from his vessel by a Coastguard helicopter crew after sustaining an injury onboard.
The rescue took place in choppy conditions off the coast of Stornoway at around 8.30pm on Tuesday.
The helicopter flew to the scene and took the fisherman onboard following reports he had sustained an injury to his hand.
He was airlifted to Stornoway Airport where a waiting ambulance took him to the Western Isles Hospital for treatment.
