A body has been recovered during a rescue operation in the Outer Hebrides.
Police have confirmed that the body of a 37-year-old male has been recovered from the water.
The incident, off Eriskay, was first reported around 3.40pm, with police, ambulance and coastguard teams all at the scene.
A coastguard spokesman said: “We were tasked by the Scottish Ambulance Service to provide assistance after receiving a call at 3.40pm.
“Our teams from Griminish, Lochboisdale and Benbecula were sent, as was Rescue 948 from Stornoway.
“The helicopter was stood down en-route to the incident.”
