A woman has died in a crash while cycling on the Isle of Mull.
The 57-year-old woman, who it is understood was a visitor to the island, was involved in a crash with a 4×4 Nissan Navara on the B8073 Salen to Tobermory road, close to Laggan Ulva Farm.
A police spokeswoman said: “A 57-year-old woman has died following a road crash involving a bike and a vehicle on the isle of Mull, near Ulva Ferry.
“Inquiries are ongoing into the cause of the crash and any witnesses should contact officers through 101 quoting reference number 1380 of September 23.”
The incident took place at 11.55am on Monday.
Mull-based councillor, Mary Jean Devon, said: “It is so sad that this tragic accident has happened.
“It is just devastating that something like this happens when someone goes on holiday and it should be a happy time.
“My thoughts go out to everyone involved in this incident.”
The crash took place on the main road on the west side of the island, which is single track. It is a popular route with visitors as it is a very scenic area.
