Five fire crews were tasked earlier today to attend reports of a house fire in the Cunningsburgh area of Shetland.
Fire control received reports of the incident at Ocraquoy around 11.40am with initial reports indicating it was believed to be a “kitchen fire”.
All occupants were uninjured in the blaze, with the fire service stating that they had exited the property prior to their arrival.
Two crews, one from Sandwick and one from Lerwick, were initially sent, however, they signalled that the fire was “well developed” and called for further crews.
An additional crew from Lerwick and Scalloway joined before a request for an incident support crew was received, which was also sent from the island’s capital Lerwick.
Four firefighters in breathing apparatus were deployed alongside the use of three main jets and a thermal imaging camera.
The fire eventually spread to the roof space of the property before crews were able to curb the blaze.
A stop message was relayed back at 1.57pm.
At 3.10pm, a spokeswoman said crews remained on scene dampening down hotspots and making up gear.
