Rapper Kanye West has been described as the “perfect guest” after he checked out of a country hotel on the Isle of Skye.

It is understood he was on the island to record a video promoting his new single Waves.

The star and his entourage stayed at Skeabost House Hotel on Sunday night, taking half of the venue’s 14 rooms.

While there he did some filming amid some of the island’s famous scenery before returning for a meal ahead of leaving via Inverness airport.

The hotel, which has recently been extensively refurbished, is seven miles from Skye’s main town of Portree and is the only hotel on the island with its own golf course.

It was acquired last year by Anne Gracie and Ken Gunn, who own two other hotels on the island.

The star’s own room was the largest in the property, complete with a four-poster bed.

“Kanye was the perfect guest – charming, courteous and polite,” Ms Gracie said.

“We were delighted to offer him and his companions our usual Highland hospitality and would welcome him back any time.”

West is in the UK to promote his latest album The Life of Pablo which was launched in February.
