Scottish stunt cyclist Danny MacAskill braved 100mph winds to ride to the top of a Skye mountain again.

But this time it was not the Cuillin Ridge – a ride which has topped more than 46 million views on You Tube – but the famous Old Man of Storr, which has featured in many films.

Danny, who was born on Skye, rode with fellow biker Nash Masson on Boxing Day and filmed the wild climb.

“Wild ride up the Old Man Of Storr today with Nash Masson !! Nothing like 100mph winds to blow away the Christmas cobwebs!! #isleofskye #oldmanofstorr #force10hooly #gopro #hero5 – at The Storr,” wrote Danny on Facebook.

The ‘Old Man’ is a large pinnacle of rock that stands high and can be seen for miles around. As part of the Trotternish ridge the Storr was created by a massive ancient landside, leaving one of the most photographed landscapes in the world.

Danny’s latest short film Wee Day Out features Scotland’s famous West Highland Line railway, including the Glenfinnan Viaduct.

His stunts are performed on bridges, a straw bale and a giant puddle.

Previously, he has been filmed on the rooftops of a town in Gran Canaria.

His father Peter recently said: “As a wee boy he was always on his bicycle then, in his teens, he was up on a fence or walls, or the top of telephone kiosks and bus shelters. Anything he could get height to then jump off with his bicycle.

“We got used to it and in his teenage years he never really had any breakages or serious injuries. He had cuts and bruises right enough, but nothing serious.

“It was only when he left Skye that he broke his collar bone twice and had an operation on his back a few years ago.”
