A man from Mossbank has been remanded in custody for nearly one month after admitting breaching a curfew.
Sean Barker, of Leaside, made the “unusual” step of requesting he be sent to jail when he appeared at Lerwick Sheriff Court on Thursday.
The 27 year old breached a curfew order after attending hospital, which resulted in Barker not staying at his home address for four fays in early July.
Sheriff Philip Mann said the case was more complicated than first thought as Barker was subject to another two community payback orders.
Defence solicitor Tommy Allan confirmed that Barker wanted to “move on” in life and wished for all three orders to be revoked.
Sheriff Mann called for updated social work reports as there were concerns over how well Barker had complied with a supervision requirement and an order to take part in the Respect domestic abuse programme.
Barker was remanded in custody until 14 September when he is due to reappear.
