Firefighters have attended three fires in two days at Dores Beach
Firefighters have been tackling a blaze at a net factory in the Isle of Scalpay for more than 24 hours.
Five appliances – two from Stornoway and one each from Tarbert, Leverburgh and Scalpay – initially attended the fire following the call at about 5pm on Friday.
A fire service spokeswoman said that one fire appliance remains on scene and hose reel jets are still being used.
The spokeswoman said that the building, which is about 100ft x 65ft, was evacuated along with residents in some of neighbouring properties.
She added that no one was hurt as a result of the fire.
The factory is operated by Net Services Scotland which is ultimately owned by a Norwegian owned company.
It cleans, repairs and applies anti-fouling treatment to giant nets used to cover salmon farm cages.
