The Fratellis have been announced as Friday night headliners at this summer’s Hebridean Celtic Festival on Lewis.

Known for hits such as Chelsea Dagger and Whistle for the Choir, the Glasgow trio release their fifth album, In Your Own Sweet Time, next month and will be touring the UK and US this year.

It is announced today that they will headline the Friday night programme for the award-winning HebCelt, which runs from July 18-21 in Stornoway.

The Fratellis join Deacon Blue, Eddi Reader, Roddy Woomble, Niteworks and Skipinnish on the HebCelt bill, along with a host of other international acts including Dante, TRIP, Martha L Healy, Blazin’ Fiddles, Tide Lines, The Tumbling Souls, Kinnaris Quintet and Trail West.

Vishtèn and the Yves Lambert Trio, from Canada; and Habadekuk, from Denmark are also part of this year’s diverse line-up.

Festival director Caroline Maclennan said: “We very much look forward to welcoming The Fratellis to the 23rd HebCelt. They are one of Scotland’s great Indie rock bands and a fantastic live act.

“The quality of this year’s line-up had already created a buzz of excitement and it’s about to get much louder with this announcement today.”
