The Waverley is set to visit the Western Isles towards the end of the month

The last sea-going paddle steamer in the world is set to visit the Western Isles later this month for four days only.

The world famous Waverley paddle steamer will set sail from Armadale on Skye on Wednesday May 30 and Saturday June 2 cruising along Loch Nevis to visit Inverie, home to Britain’s most remote pub.

On Thursday May 31 visitors can step aboard in Kyle of Lochalsh, Portree and Gairloch taking in the sights and beauty of Loch Torridon, with one final trip planned cruising round the Isle of Raasay from Kyle and Portree on Friday June 1.

Andy O’Brian, the Captain of the Waverley, said: “The West Coast of Scotland showcases some of the most beautiful scenery in the world and Waverley offers the most unique way in which to view this breath taking landscape.

“Every passenger who comes aboard helps this beautiful ship continue to sail and I would encourage everyone to come and enjoy a trip on her. We look forward to welcoming you onboard.”

The ship has been restored to her original 1940s look where visitors can dine and relax in the traditional dining saloon, Caledonia Tea Room and on the sun kissed promenade deck.

Fares vary dependant on route with tickets available at www.waverleyexcursions.co.uk or on 0141 243 2224.
