A Moray heritage centre that showcases the history of the vast salmon ice-packing industry of a village has opened for the season.
The Findhorn Heritage Centre and Ice House will also be introducing updated D-Day exhibitions to highlight what went on in the coastal village during World War II.
The volunteer-run attraction will be open on Saturday and Sunday afternoons from 2pm until 5pm during May and September, but during the summer months will be open every afternoon.
One of the centre’s most popular attractions is the Storychair in the Icehouse, where visitors can sit and listen to salmon fisherman Billy talk about life in the Old Bar Bothy in the 1950s.
The resident ornithologist will be keeping the seabird sightings board regularly updated, with tourists encouraged to take their binoculars and seeing if they can spot any birds around.
To mark the 75th anniversary of the D-Day Landings, the wartime Findhorn exhibition will be completely refreshed to show how the military used local beaches for their practice drills and landings.
Admission is free although donations to keep the centre going are much appreciated.
