More than 60 households in Moray remained without internet services yesterday following a road accident that “completely destroyed” a broadband cabinet.
A woman was taken to hospital following the two-car incident, which involved a police car, on the A98 Fochabers to Buckie road near Portgordon on Sunday.
A phone cabinet was also hit in the incident but the damage has not affected calls in the area.
An Openreach spokeswoman said: “The broadband cabinet, which provides internet services to 65 households, was completely destroyed.
“Six faults have been reported by the local community currently and we’d urge people to report any loss of service to their providers if they haven’t already done so.
“Engineers are working on extensive repairs and we hope to complete this as quickly as possible.”
Yesterday police confirmed inquiries were continuing into the incident.
