Police found the bodies of Rosemary Laing and Kathleen Edward
Police have confirmed that the body recovered earlier today near to the Bridge of Sourden in the Rothes area has been formally identified as Kathleen Edward, 85.
A second body recovered in the Bridge of Sourden area today has also been identified as that of 77 year old Rosemary Laing who was reported missing yesterday.
Speaking about the searches to trace both ladies Chief Inspector Stewart Mackie said :” I would like to take this opportunity to thank the public for their help and information in relation to the searches for both ladies.
“The support from the public for both of these sad cases has been very much appreciated.
“I would also like to express our gratitude for the assistance we’ve received from the Coastguard and members of the Braemar Mountain Rescue Team.
“Our condolences go to the families of the women.”
