Dozens of green-fingered volunteers have been out in force to get a Moray town looking its best.
Judges from Beautiful Scotland were given a guided tour of Forres in Bloom’s colourful floral displays yesterday.
Members of the group were out at 8am putting the finishing touches to the eye-catching features.
Judges were taken on a scenic journey around Forres to see the spectacular animal sculptures in Grant Park, environmental work at Sanquhar Loch and the flower pots in the town centre.
Forres in Bloom chairwoman, Diane McGregor, said: “We really enjoyed showing them around the town and showing them the work we have been doing.
“It’s all really about taking pride in where we live and making the town as attractive as possible for visitors, whether it’s the sculptures in the park or the High Street.”
Volunteers will now have to cross their fingers until September when the results of the Beautiful Scotland competition will be announced.
Judge Liz Stewart was impressed with the quality and variety of floral features in Forres.
She said: “There has been a vast amount of work that has gone into the displays. It’s very impressive when you consider it’s all done by the community.”
