A former police officer has been chosen to fight the forthcoming Moray Council elections for the Conservative party.
Tim Eagle will stand in Buckie after missing out on a seat in the chambers in a by-election.
He is already a member of the town’s community council and now works as a farmer and farming consultant.
Mr Eagle said: “Moray Council faces tough times ahead and I believe I can help bring representation to protect our local facilities and services.
“I want to see Buckie and the surrounding communities move from strength to strength over the next few years and I want to use my diverse experience to ensure council services are truly meeting the needs of local people.”
Mr Eagle intends to make leisure facilities, education and social care the centre of his campaign, in advance of the May vote.
He added: “I am aware of the benefits of having local schools, swimming pools, sports clubs and more in this area.
“My family use these facilities weekly and I want to ensure we protect them.”
