People of all ages visited a Moray town yesterday for a fun day which offered an eclectic mix of attractions.

The Buckie Summer Show featured a dazzling array of classic motors, a fun fair for children and was also the focal point for a picturesque coastal stroll.

The event kicked off at 8am with the 19th annual six-harbour walk, which is organised by Buckie Rotary Club.

More than 450 people toured a 16-mile stretch of the area’s scenic seafront on foot across the day.

The jaunt began at Portsoy, passing Sandend, Cullen, Portknockie and Findochty before culminating in Buckie.

Organiser, Bill Greig, said: “People came from all over [the region] and it was a great success.

“The walkers were saying it couldn’t have been a better day for it, it was warm but there was a nice breeze on their shoulders.”

Dozens of classic cars lined up along both sides of East Church Street, with an impressive display of tractors nearby.

The event’s classic car convener, Charlie McIntosh, added: “There were a lot of good entries, with American ‘hot rod’ cars and a large American truck being especially popular with people.

“There was a great turnout of classic cars from the 1960s and 1970s as well.”

Meanwhile, Buckie sisters, Nicole Tsvetanova and Anna Danailova made the most of having their town centre transformed into a miniature theme park.

Nine-year-old Anna looked after little Nicole, who is almost two, as the pair sampled some of the rides available.

Their mum, Gergana Blazheva, said: “The girls have had a very nice time, we come to the summer show every year and it is always a treat for the children.”
