A Moray man has admitted sexually assaulting a barmaid before ranting and raving at guests at a caravan park.

Keiron Ritchie, from Buckie, touched the breasts and bottom of the woman.

At first, she managed to get away from his “grip” to inform a colleague about the incident, which occurred on August 8.

However, Ritchie approached her again before putting his arms around her while biting her neck.

Yesterday, the 24-year-old admitted the attack as well as two assault charges, two charges of behaving a threatening abusive manner and a charge of restricting police officers, which all happened on the same evening, when he appeared at Elgin Sheriff Court.

Fiscal Alison Young said: “When the accused was told he was not going to be served any more he became aggressive and came face to face with other people there.

“When he was told about the sexual assault allegation he said he had not ‘touched up’ anybody there.

“At one point he jumped on to the bar area and started swinging his fists and threatened to take people outside.”

During the incident Ritchie pushed a holiday park guest on the body and struck another on the head.

When police arrived he obstructed two constables by struggling violently with them.

Ritchie was taken to Dr Gray’s Hospital by the officers due to a cut on his hand, while in the casualty department he shouted and swore at other patients.

Defence solicitor Matthew O’Neill submitted a letter to the court to confirm his client’s “health circumstances” but did not comment further.

Ritchie, of Reidhaven Street, will be sentenced on January 11 once background reports have been prepared.
