The woman found guilty of causing the death of a north-east art teacher has been handed a community payback order.
Pauline Flynn appeared at Peterhead Sheriff Court this morning for sentencing after a jury found her guilty of careless driving, resulting in the death of 61-year-old Harry McPherson and seriously injuring his wife, Patricia.
The mum-of-two, however, avoided jail because of what Sheriff Andrew Miller described as the “bleak” prospects her two teenage daughters would face without a guardian.
He handed the Mintlaw woman a 300 hour unpaid work order and banned her from the roads for five years.
From the public gallery, Mrs McPherson shouted out that Flynn, of Sutherland Close, Mintlaw, was a “troll”.
“I hope you feel guilty, you little troll,” she said as she made her way out of the courtroom.
Flynn will have 12 months to carry out the work order.
