A bid has been launched to sell a boat owned by a late north-east harbour master.
Baden Gibson spent his entire life in Pennan and even starred as an extra in the classic comedy Local Hero alongside Burt Lancaster and Peter Capaldi.
He was harbour master for 40 years until he died in November 2016 near his seafront bothy as he prepared for a fishing trip. Mr Gibson was 67.
Speaking at the time of his death one villager described the lifetime resident as “Pennan’s Local Hero.”

Now the search is on to find a new owner for Mr Gibson’s last boat.
He never used the dinghy and for the last year it is has been kept at a yard in Macduff so it remains in good condition.
Three of Mr Gibson’s boats have been sold to new owners, with one still in the north-east, another in Shetland and the final vessel ended up in the United States.
Mr Gibson’s friend Andra Noble was given permission to sell off his possessions by the family.
He has managed to sell three boats and other fishing equipment that Mr Gibson used.
Mr Noble said it was time that the final vessel left its current home at a chandler’s yard in Macduff.
He said: “Last year we got the other boats sold. One went to Shetland, one went to Detroit and one was sold locally.
“We put the dinghy up to Buccaneer in Macduff as we thought that was the best place to try to get people interested in it.
“All of the other belongings has been sold and the only thing that is left now is this sailing dinghy, which he bought but never actually used.
“It has been up at Buccaneer for more than a year and people have been interested, but nothing has come of it.
“Obviously we can’t leave it there for evermore.”
Mr Noble said he would be willing to donate the boat to a new owner as long as they made a donation to the Pennan Harbour Trust.
