It could turn into the Broch’s very own range for Rover.
That’s following the news that a Fraserburgh woman has launched a bid to set up a dedicated dog walking area in the port.
Jennifer Wood has started an online petition calling for a “much needed” space to allow people in the town to walk their pets.
She is convinced that dog walkers should campaign for a location where they can safely let their canine companions off the lead.
Miss Wood, who owns a Labrador named Ozzy, has set up the petition as she aims to gathers support to make her case to the council.
It asks signatories to back the scheme and help “make it a reality” by lending support and more than 400 people have already joined the crusade.
Miss Wood believes the area could be built at James Ramsay Park and should be fenced off. She has already contacted the port’s councillors about backing her vision.
She said: “I think it’s a much needed area for dogs to be able to exercise freely and a safe place that keeps them away from members of the public.

“It’s also a convenient place where owners can feel safe letting their dogs off the lead and good for socialising for the dogs and their owners.
“I have been in touch with two councillors Doreen Mair and Brian Topping and they have put this forward to the two other councillors and officials.
“A central enclosed area would be good on James Ramsey Park at the grass area beside the play park. It would have to be a fully fenced and a gated area high enough so that no dogs could jump over and they owners could safely let their pets off the lead.”

Last night, a council spokeswoman said the local authority was still awaiting formal details of the proposal.
She added: “We can confirm that we have not yet received an official request for the implementation of a dog park in Fraserburgh.
“We would give appropriate consideration to any requests we received and would also take into account the views of other park users and neighbours if a suitable site was identified.”
