Plans have been submitted to convert a former north-east council building into a six-bedroom home.
Around 40 Aberdeenshire Council staff moved out of Cape House in Banff in November 2018 and it was put up for sale for £90,000 shortly afterwards.
The B-listed villa sits on the corner of Seafield Street and Reidhaven Street and was originally built as a house in the 19th century.
Now it could be given a new lease of life if proposals to revamp the building are approved.
Cornhill-based architect Jill Andrews has submitted the transformation plans on behalf of her client Stella Sihlabela from Aberdeen.
Mrs Sihlabela said she “fell in love” with the building almost immediately.
She said: “My husband and I want to change it from offices to a new home for our family. I fell in love with the property and I have been looking for a house for a while.
“We are quite keen to do a renovation and Cape House really stood out for us.”
Drawings show there would one bedroom on the ground floor, three bedrooms of the first floor and two more in the attic.
There would also be a sitting room, study, kitchen, utility and two bathrooms.
Temporary huts, used as offices by the council, would be removed from the garden.
A document sent out to potential buyers by the local authority details some of its features as well as its history.
It said: “The property is a detached, two-storey and attic category B-listed villa of stone construction with a single storey modular extension to the rear.
“The property has most recently been used as office accommodation but was purpose built in the late 19th century for residential purposes.
“Internally the property retains many original residential features, including original staircase and cornicing.”
The report adds that planning applications for converting the building from offices into a home would be “favourably considered.”
Last night, a council spokesman said the sale of the building is nearing completion.
He said: “Cape House in Banff is currently under offer, subject to planning consent being granted.
“We are hopeful that matters will be concluded shortly.”
