A north-east garden centre has helped support those in need at Christmas for over a decade – and they are looking for help again this year.
Happy Plant gift and Garden Centre in Mintlaw have been working alongside community group Buchan Giving Tree to help “local families with children who need a little extra support at Christmas.”
As part of the Buchan Giving Tree appeal, the garden centre encouraged their customers to take a tag from the gift tree to donate a gift for a child or young person in the local area.
Garden centre manager Sheena Ritchie said: “The response this year for the Buchan Giving Tree appeal has been good but we’ve found that no two years are the same. If we can do something to help then we’re making some sort of difference.”
Each tag describes the child or young person who the Buchan Giving Tree are asking the donation for. People then return the gift and tag, with a value not exceeding £10, unwrapped, to the gift tree.
