Plans have been lodged for a recreational shed designed to help disabled people to make the most of the countryside.
Boddam Community Association want to create a walkers’ shed on land next to the quarry at Stirlinghill.
According the plans drafted by Baxter Design Company, the facility will have tables, chairs, male and female disabled toilets as well as charging points for electric buggies.
The association hope this will allow more disabled people to enjoy the countryside as well as attract potential visitors to the area.
Former councillor and Boddam resident Sam Coull believes there would be many benefits to the village if the application is approved.
He said: “This would allow families with disabled relatives to get into the countryside and with where the building would be situated, you’re spoiled for choice with marvellous views.
“It could give people something to break the boredom as well as attract visitors to the area which could of course benefit local businesses.”
Aberdeenshire Council will consider the project in the coming weeks.
