Local health bosses will take over a north-east medical practice.
The Aberdeenshire Health and Social Care Partnership will assume control of Saltoun Medical Practice in Fraserburgh from September 30.
The centre, which has struggled to recruit a full-time GP, had previously announced plans to end its contract with the NHS at that time.
The practice will remain in its current building and will continue to provide primary care services to all of its 8,500 registered patients.
Many of the current practice staff will remain in post after the handover.
Partnership manager for North Aberdeenshire, Mark Simpson, said: “This is welcome news for Fraserburgh and will mean that very little will change for people who are registered with the practice.
“I’m really pleased that we have been able to work with the practice and the wider health and social care team to ensure stability.”
Councillor Charles Buchan said he hoped the shake-up would lead to improved services and it being easier for people to secure appointments.
