A man has been charged with attempted murder after an incident in Fraserburgh.

Liam Caton, 21, appeared at a private hearing in Peterhead Sheriff Court yesterday, when he offered no plea to the charge.

He has been accused of carrying out the crime against a 25-year-old at the town’s St Andrews Drive on Wednesday.

It is alleged that Caton caused injuries which endangered the other man’s life.

Caton, whose address was given as Liverpool, was remanded in custody and is expected to appear at court again within the next eight days.

The man he allegedly attacked had to be taken to Aberdeen Royal Infirmary for treatment.
