A motorbike will be raffled off this weekend to help support the work of a north-east charity which provides a place for men and women to overcome their addictions.
Teen Challenge will raffle off a Triumph bike over Friday and Saturday in Tesco Fraserburgh.
The group, which runs two residential centres in Aberdeenshire, recently campaigned to raise £535,000 to purchase its women’s recovery home, Benaiah, near Mintlaw.
Gordon Cruden, the charity’s area manager, said: “We’re excited to be launching our new prize draw and look forward to visiting Tesco Fraserburgh to not only sell tickets, but to have great conversations and speak hope into situations.
“We’ll chat to hurting people, letting them know that freedom is on offer and no matter how broken a life may appear, it can be fixed.
“The prize draw itself presents a great opportunity. For a ticket costing just £5, the winner is going to ride off with a Triumph bike, while helping to change lives.”
He added: “We’re particularly pleased to be launching this in Fraserburgh.
“The town has always been supportive of our work and we’d encourage anyone interested in hearing more and buying a ticket to pop down to Tesco to see us.”
The bike has been co-sponsored by Shirlaws of Aberdeen.
Craig Shirlaw, the firm’s manager, said: “As soon as we were approached about this project we wanted to get on board to help out as it’s such a great cause.
“Being a local family business we care a lot about our community.
“This is a particularly special year for us as we celebrate our 90th anniversary– and we’re extremely pleased that, as part of reaching this milestone, we can give back to our community.”
