A public exhibition is being held to update Fraserburgh residents on the work being carried out to regenerate the north-east town.
An open evening has been organised for next month to showcase how the fishing town is being transformed.
And it’s hoped that the exhibition will help inspire more people to get involved.
It comes as the Fraserburgh 2021 project, a £5million scheme aimed at revitalising the port’s high street, enters it third year.
Work is already under way on a £1million redevelopment of the council chambers and former police station.
The Saltoun Chambers in Kirk Brae will be transformed into a new face for the local authority and will include a brand new centre for budding entrepreneurs.
Grants of up to £10,000 were also offered to shopkeepers last year to refurbish their store fronts.
Now people in Fraserburgh are being given a chance to cast their eyes over progress on improving the town’s economic fortunes at a meeting next month.
Alastair Rhind, a strategic regeneration executive, said it was the right time to give locals an opportunity to see what is happening on their doorsteps.
He said: “There’s a lot going on and we have invested substantial money in the redevelopment of Saltoun Square.
“We are halfway into delivering an action plan and it seemed like a good opportunity to spread the word.
“We want to make sure people understand regeneration is part of a coordinated package of activity happening in the town and to see whether we can get more people involved more directly.
“There are a small number of partners sitting on the regeneration partnership but I think regeneration is at its most successful when everybody does their bit.
“That includes property owners in the town centre and other members of the community who have an interest in improving life in Fraserburgh and want to really get involved.”
Councillor Brian Topping, who is chairman of the Fraserburgh redevelopment partnership, said it was important to get as many people “signed up” for the future of the town as possible.
He said: “There are so many exciting things happening and we really want everyone to be a part of it.
“It is lovely having a new police station and a few shops being upgraded, but there’s so much more that needs to be done.
“We are trying to get people signed up to a new exciting future for the town.”
The public exhibition is being held at Fraserburgh Community and Sports Centre on Tuesday, July 3 at 6pm.
