A north-east woman who smashed a car windscreen with a traffic cone before assaulting police officers will learn her fate in December.
Peterhead Sheriff Court heard Courtney Culley snapped after overhearing individuals in the town making comments about her family.
The 20-year-old – who was under the influence of alcohol – was on York Street at the time and was overheard to say that she was going to “batter someone”.
Fiscal depute Ruairidh McAlister said Culley was then seen picking up a traffic cone and hitting a car three times, smashing its windscreen.
She spat at police officers who arrived a short time later, kicking one on the body, and then spat at them again after they transported her to Fraserburgh police station.
Defence agent Stuart Flowerdew said his client had been reacting to a comment made by other people in the street and added that she wished to apologise to the police.
Culley, of Leask Avenue in Peterhead, admitted charges of vandalism and assault.
Sheriff Christine McCrossan deferred sentence until December for the accused to be of good behaviour.
