A major rescue operation was launched off the Peterhead coast this evening.
The police and coastguard were called into action in Buchanhaven at around 6pm.
Concern was raised for a man in the water.
The Fraserburgh RNLI lifeboat crew was sent to the scene, along with the Bond One rescue helicopter and local coastguard staff.
But the rescuers were stood down before they arrived at the Buchanhaven coast, with police tracing the man, safe and well, at his home.
