Sixteen and 17-year-olds will be unable to take part in the general election, despite being able to take part in the Scottish council vote the month prior.
The Scottish Government extended voting rights before the independence referendum in 2014 meaning 16s and up will be able to vote in the May council elections.
However, the voting age has not been extended elsewhere in the UK, which means they will not be descending on the ballot boxes twice in just over a month.
