He dismissed the Smith Commission’s proposals as falling short of what Scotland expects and deserves.
If it is a hung parliament, an enlarged SNP could be kingmakers in a coalition – and win the powers they want in return.
For Mr Salmond, this means nothing short of virtual independence – “home rule, devo-to-the max or near-federalism”.
