Tennis player Andy Murray has broken his silence on independence, and it looks as though he is supporting the Yes camp.

The Wimbledon champion aired his views on Twitter, saying that the ‘negativity of the No campaign had swayed his view’.

As the 27-year-old isn’t a resident in Scotland, he won’t be voting in today’s Referendum.

His views on the topic have so far been unclear after he claimed he ‘didn’t like Alex Salmond’s flash of the Saltire’ during his Wimbledon, but said in 2006 that he would support ‘anyone but England’ in the World Cup.

Other Scottish stars pinning their colours to the mast include JK Rowling, David Tennant and Shirley Manson, who support the No camp, and Sir Sean Connery, Frankie Boyle and The Proclaimers who are supporting Yes.
