A stretch of the A9 has been closed today after a vehicle burst into flames in a layby.
Firefighters and police have been called to the scene near Tibbermore and motorists have been warned to expect delays in the area.
No casualties have been reported, but the vehicle was “well alight” by the time fire crews arrived.
The vehicle is believed to have caught fire at around 1.15pm.
Significant disruption is expected until the vehicle can be recovered and motorists are urged to seek alternative routes.
UPDATE: The southbound lane has now reopened but traffic remains blocked northbound.
