A star-studded line up has been revealed as part of Edith Bowman’s epic live stream fundraiser, For the Love of Scotland, in a bid to raise urgent funds for Masks for Scotland.

The event, which takes this place on Wednesday between 6pm and 9pm, has attracted the attention of top Scottish stars Annie Lennox, Ally McCoist and Irvine Welsh, as an array of music, literature, poetry and conversations will be shared alongside content submitted by members of the public.

The event aims to highlight the great and the good of community spirit across the nation during the current coronavirus pandemic, with a fundraising target of £200,000 set.

Organisers have stated that 100% of the money raised will fund the provision of PPE for key workers across the country, with over £80,000 already raised in just over a week.

The first orders are set to arrive in Scotland this week.

Professor Jill Belch of the University of Dundee, who founded the Masks for Scotland campaign, said the fundraiser “will save lives” by providing protection to medical teams battling the pandemic.

Host Edith Bowman said: “I can’t begin to explain how grateful I am to all the people who are helping us out and giving up their time.”

Viewers interested in capturing a glimpse of the action can tune into the stream on the Gigs in Scotland Facebook or YouTube pages.
