Part of an Aberdeen road is closed this morning after an altercation between two groups of men last night.

Nigg Way is shut between the A90 Stonehaven Road junction and the Maxwell Crescent junction while police officers investigate incidents which happened the Northfield and Kincorth last night.

It is understood five men were involved in the incident, but police have said no assaults took place and there were no injuries.

A search of the area on Nigg Way began around 11.30am

A spokesman for the force said: “Police are investigating following related disturbances in the Springhill Crescent and Nigg Way areas of Aberdeen which occurred between 9.30pm and 10pm last night.

“A number of males are known to have been involved as were three vehicles – a green motor car described as a people carrier, a blue Toyota Corolla and a dark coloured Ford Focus.

“The vehicles involved have travelled together between Springhill Crescent and Nigg Way on the Lang Stracht and South Anderson Drive.”

Anyone who was in these areas of the city at the time and believe they saw anything is asked to contact Police Scotland on 101 or Crimestopeers 0800 555 111.
