VIDEO: Police release CCTV footage of man being kidnapped from bar

Police have released shocking CCTV footage of a man being kidnapped from a bar.

The 22-year-old was dragged out of the Blue Lagoon on Gloucester Road, Bristol, by a number of men.

He was assaulted and put into a car before being driven to the Bradley Stoke area of the city, where he escaped.

The victim required hospital treatment for injuries to his face following the incident, at about 10.20pm on December 15.

Avon and Somerset Police have released a 45-second clip of the kidnap as part of an appeal for information.

Temporary Detective Chief Inspector Duncan Wood said: “This was a terrifying event for the young man involved and it’s fortunate he didn’t sustain any lasting injuries.

“Thankfully, incidents of this kind are rare in Avon and Somerset but when they do happen we take them extremely seriously.

“As part of our investigation we’re releasing footage from inside the Blue Lagoon in the hope the public can help us identify the men pictured.

“Do you recognise any of them? Did you witness the incident in or around the bar on the night of 15 December?

“Anyone with information, however insignificant you might think it is, who hasn’t yet contacted us is asked to get in touch.”

Two men aged 32 and 28 have been arrested in connection with the incident and released on bail until February 17.

Anyone with information is asked to call 101 and provide the call handler with the reference 5216278474.
