Willie Miller: I’m feeling blue over SFA’s muddy disciplinary waters

The SFA have really muddied the water with what constitutes a foul with recent baffling decisions.

Aberdeen’s Mikey Devlin, pictured above, had an appeal for a red card rejected when it was a yellow-card offence.

Yet Rangers’ keeper Allan McGregor, right, faces no sanction for kicking out at Celtic’s Kristoffer Ajer.

There needs to be more transparency from the SFA and an explanation to fans about how these decisions were made.

At least that would take away the fog some fans have which could turn into resentment where they feel certain teams get decisions going for them unfairly while others are hammered. Devlin’s challenge on Eamonn Brophy was not cynical and the Dons defender was actually impeded. It was 30 yards-plus from goal and Shay Logan was getting back.

You wonder how far out it has to be now before it is not a goal-scoring opportunity.

Yet McGregor lashed out at a player with intent and there is no action taken.

In my day, when the game was more physical, lashing out would be deemed dangerous play.
