Churches have been at the heart of our communities for hundreds of years, and in this gallery we look back at some big moments for these congregations.
In our ongoing series looking through our archives at churches through the churches in Aberdeen which fall under the alphabetical categories of J and M.
We can also see just how much has changed in Aberdeen with a look at the John Knox Church building in Mounthooly as it was in 1949 – but is now part of a block of rental apartments.
Mannofield Parish Church in the West End of the city still functions as a church and in this collection of pictures we can see several of the people who served their community for decades.
We can also see Langstane Kirk when it was going through the process of a facelift in the 1980s.
