Two Highland MSPs have been given roles in Scottish Labour’s new shadow cabinet.
Party leader Jim Murphy has given Dave Stewart responsibility for speaking on transport and islands issues – shadowing SNP minister Derek Mackay.
Rhoda Grant will speak for Labour on sport, health improvement and mental health – shadowing SNP minister Jamie Hepburn.
North-east Labour MSP Lewis Macdonald has been given the business, energy and tourism brief – shadowing Fergus Ewing, MSP or Inverness and Nairn.
Mr Murphy’s team met for the first time in Edinburgh yesterday.
He said: “There is a spring in the step of the Scottish Labour Party and we need to take that new energy and show Scots we have the radical and bold ideas to transform our country.”
