SPFL confirm 50/50 split for Betfred Cup final

Aberdeen have been granted their wish of an even split of tickets for next month’s Betfred Cup final against Celtic at Hampden.

Rangers were awarded 7,000 more tickets for the 2000 Scottish Cup final when the Dons last faced Old Firm opposition in a final and Aberdeen manager Derek McInnes warned the SPFL that it would be a “disgrace” if the same thing was to happen again.

But the SPFL confirmed yesterday that there would be a 50/50 split of the national stadium for the match, which will kick off at 3pm on Sunday, November 27.

SPFL chief executive Neil Doncaster said: “The SPFL would like to congratulate both Aberdeen and Celtic for making it to the first showpiece final of the Scottish football season, with its return to a pre-Christmas date proving very popular with supporters.

“We are pleased to announce that both clubs will enjoy an equal share of tickets for the 2016 Betfred Cup final which is shaping up to be another brilliant footballing occasion.”

Aberdeen supporters will be seated in the West Stand, North Stand section C and South Stand lower section P and upper section Q.

The Celtic supporters will be in the East Stand, North Stand section D, South Stand lower section I and upper section H.

Tickets prices will range from £35-£30 for adults and £15 for under 16s (in the West Stand) with adults wheelchair access tickets available from £10-£20 and £5 for under-16s.

Aberdeen FC are yet to announce when tickets will officially go on sale.
