Caley Thistle chairman Graham Rae insists he is relaxed about reports linking manager John Robertson with the vacant Dundee United job.
A report in the Evening Telegraph yesterday claimed Robertson is a contender to replace Csaba Laszlo, who was sacked by Championship rivals United on Sunday.
Although interim boss Laurie Ellis will take charge of the Tangerines’ trip to Ayr United tomorrow and is expected to be given the opportunity to stake his claim for the job, Rae says there has been no approach from the Tannadice club for Robertson.
Rae said: “Whenever a manager leaves a club in this division, or any other, there is always a lot of speculation as to who people will go for. Managers who are working can become potential candidates.
“Normally we would have expected to have had a call from the club in question, but there has been no approach that I know of.
“Any time there has been a change of manager in the last six months, John’s name always seems to be up there but nothing has come of it.
“We are very pleased with the man we have and he knows that.”
