Ross County manager Jim McIntyre is targeting three more signings this summer.

McIntyre has already brought 10 players to Victoria Park during the close season, with defenders Richard Foster, Chris Robertson and new club captain Andrew Davies the latest to arrive.

With 18 first team players signed for the new campaign, McIntyre is pleased with the way his squad is shaping up, but remains keen to add more.

The Staggies manager is trying to bring midfielder Jackson Irvine back, after the Australian returned to parent club Celtic following a successful season-long loan in Dingwall last season.

After releasing Mark Brown and Antonio Reguero at the end of the campaign, McIntyre is also keen to bring in another goalkeeper to provide competition for Scott Fox, who was signed from Partick Thistle.

McIntyre said: “There’s another goalkeeper to come in and possibly another central midfielder and forward.

“I’m really pleased with the acquisitions we’ve made.

“I feel we’ve strengthened the squad. We kept a number of the players and I feel we’ve made good additions.

“We also lost one or two we wanted to keep as well, so it was important to replace the quality of player who us.

“There are no guarantees for any of the new signings.

“They’ve got to earn their place, and everybody’s on page one – it’s who impresses most that will start the season.”

McIntyre is optimistic his additions can flourish to help County build on their excellent finish to last season, with the Staggies winning 10 of their final 14 matches to finish ninth in the Premiership having been six points adrift at the bottom at the start of February.

McIntyre added: “I certainly back my signings to do well although I don’t think any manager gets them all right.

“But I think we’ve added really well. The group we’ve assembled, there’s a mixture of experience and young lads, and a group in their mid-20s as well. I’m very pleased with what we’ve done so far.

“The hardest part is getting people here. Once they actually see the area and the club, and how professionally run it is, then it becomes easier. I’ve got to sell players my vision, how I want the team to play and what I expect from each individual and they have bought into that.”
