Fraser determined to return to winning ways at Dingwall

Ross County defender Marcus Fraser is determined to help improve the Staggies’ poor home form.

County have recorded just one victory from their opening six Premiership games at Dingwall, failing to win at home since a 2-0 triumph against Kilmarnock on August 20.

After ending a run of 10 games without a win with Saturday’s 4-2 victory at St Johnstone, the Highlanders return to Victoria Park to face Hamilton Accies on Saturday in the first of five home matches before January’s winter break.

Fraser is eager for his side to start capitalising on playing in front of their own supporters and he said: “The home record is not as good as we’d have liked.

“Away from home we’ve picked up good points here and there but at home we need to start putting a marker down, and when teams come here make it really hard for them.

“We need to get in their faces, get points and push up that league.

“In every home game, we need to try and go out there and get the three points.

County’s victory in Perth at the weekend moved them from bottom of the table to eighth and, with Jim McIntyre’s men now just a point away from the top six, former Celtic defender Fraser knows a strong run of form can push his side further up the table.

The 22-year-old added: “We need to remember it’s only one win and we want a lot more.

“To push up the league we need to get more wins. We just want to keep building momentum, so, hopefully, we can take that into Saturday and get a good result.

“We don’t need a run of 10 games or whatever. Even four or five can shoot us right up the league and that’s the difference between having a good season and an average season. We need to make sure we do it.”

“The run we were on – we all knew it wasn’t good enough. We need to build on Saturday’s win and go again. This weekend is another massive game for us to maybe jump another few places.”
