Dumbarton are keen to extend Aberdeen goalkeeper Danny Rogers’ loan period until the end of the season.

Rogers is due to return to Pittodrie in January but Sons manager Ian Murray is already making moves to keep the 20-year-old, who saved a penalty from Rangers’ Lee McCulloch on Saturday.

Murray said: “When Danny first came in we talked about him being here all season but agreed that we would review it as we went along.

“It would be great to keep Danny for the rest of the campaign.”

Meanwhile, League 1 leaders Forfar may look to the loan market to help them out in the absence of experienced midfielder Derek Young.

The 34-year-old has been out with a knee injury and Station Park manager Dick Campbell is keen to bring in cover.

In recent years Campbell has brought in Nicky Low, Joe Shaughnessy, Jordon Brown and Craig Storie from Aberdeen and he could look north again.

Campbell said: “I have spoken to Derek McInnes a couple of times about players who can help us.

“I would like to get Craig back if that was possible as he would be great cover for Derek Young but nothing has happened yet.”
