Aberdeen boss Jim Goodwin confirmed he aims to sign another five players as part of his summer transfer window rebuild.
Goodwin has already secured five new signings for his reconstruction of a squad that finished a lowly 10th in the Premiership last term.
The Reds have splashed out almost £1 million in transfer fees already this window – and there are more new additions to come.
Goodwin confirmed the Dons are in ongoing talks with transfer targets and he hopes to get deals over the line.
Pittodrie gaffer Goodwin also revealed he aims to go with a tight squad size of 22 players in the new season.
He said: “We are talking to another three or four players at the moment.
“We’ve got five over the line just now, if Bojan Miovski’s medical and all that goes to plan.
“I’m delighted with the business that has been done as the recruitment up until now has been very good.
“I’d love to say another probably five or six quality players to the group.
“But, if we only get five of those, I’d be delighted.”
Almost £1 million in transfer fees
Macedonian international striker Miovski is the latest addition in a summer signing spree that is gaining momentum.
The 23-year-old was secured in a €625,000 (£535,000) deal from Hungarian club MTK Budapest.
Aberdeen have agreed personal terms with Miovski, who will join on a four-year contract following successful completion of the UK immigration process.
Aberdeen beat clubs across Europe to secure 10 times-capped striker Miovski.
The Reds have outlaid close to seven figures in transfer fees already during the window.
On top of the £535,000 paid for Miovski, the Reds also stumped up £300,000 for Jayden Richardson (Nottingham Forest) and £100,000 for Ylber Ramadani (MTK Budapest).
Centre-back Anthony Stewart has signed a pre-contract to join the Dons from Wycombe Wanderers.
Stewart will join the Dons at the start of July on a two-year deal following the conclusion of his Wycombe contract.
Aberdeen also secured Celtic left-sided centre-back Liam Scales on a season-long loan deal.
McGrath and Ronan on radar
In the bid to strengthen further, Goodwin has refused to rule out a move for Wigan Athletic midfielder Jamie McGrath.
The 25-year-old knocked back a bid from Aberdeen in January in favour of a transfer from St Mirren to Wigan.
However, McGrath has made just three starts for Wigan, the League One winners.
Aberdeen face competition from Dundee United for McGrath as new Tannadice boss Jack Ross has made the midfielder one of his top signing targets.
Wolves midfielder Connor Ronan is also a summer transfer target.
Premier League Wolves are reportedly willing to sell Ronan this summer.
Ronan, 24, spent last season on loan at St Mirren, scoring eight times and pitching in with four assists in 30 games.
Signing a keeper is another priority for Goodwin in the transfer window.
The contract for keeper Gary Woods has been terminated by mutual consent.
Another striker could follow Miovski
Aberdeen lost out in the race to sign Odds BK striker Tobias Lauritsen, who on Friday signed at Dutch top-flight Sparta Rotterdam in a £600,000 deal.
The Dons had a £300,000 offer accepted for the Norwegian striker, but the 24-year-old opted to move to Sparta.
Goodwin still aims to add another striker in the transfer window and has refused to rule out a loan deal.
Aberdeen were linked with Hearts striker Liam Boyce, but Goodwin insists there has been no approach.
He said: “I don’t know, honestly, where some of the names come from.
“There has been no discussions between us and Liam Boyce or with Aberdeen and Hearts with regards to that.”
A 22-man squad for new season
Goodwin has released 13 players since coming into Aberdeen as manager in mid February.
Keeper Gary Woods is the latest to exit as the final year of his contract was terminated by mutual consent.
With five signings already secured and more to come, Goodwin has revealed he aims to go with a squad size of 22 players.
He insists he does not want a 3o-man squad with players forced to sit in the stand on matchdays.
Goodwin wants his squad to be ‘tight and competitive’ to ensure a fierce competition for places.
He said: “I think 22 is a good number.
“You are looking at 17 or 18 senior players and then supported by three or four younger players
“If you can have a couple of players in each position that’s pretty much the way to do it.
“I don’t want a squad of 30 or anything like that.
“There is nothing worse than sticking guys in the stand on matchday.
“We will try and keep it as tight and competitive as possible.
“I always want to have that competition for places on a matchday.”
Youngsters promoted to first team
Teenage midfielder Ryan Duncan has been promoted into the first-team set-up after impressing on a loan spell at Peterhead.
The 18-year-old made 17 appearances for the League One outfit, scoring three times.
Scotland U19 international Duncan will train with the first team throughout pre-season.
Goodwin said: “We’ve promoted two or three of the young lads up into the first-team set-up.
“Jack Milne has been involved last season on the bench because the squad was quite light.
“Ryan Duncan had a very successful loan period with Peterhead.”
