Aberdeen goal hero Bojan Miovski aims to to beat the Old Firm’s multi-million stars in the race to finish the Premiership’s top scorer.

North Macedonian international Miovski has laid down the gauntlet to Rangers’ Antonio-Mirko Colak and Celtic’s Kyogo Furuhashi.

Miovski netted a double in the 4-1 defeat of Kilmarnock to take his Premiership scoring tally to seven.

He is level with Celtic’s Japanese international Furuhashi, a £4.6 million signing.

Rangers’ £1.8m signing Colak tops the scoring table on eight goals.

Colak netted a double in the 4-0 defeat of Hearts at the weekend with Furuhashi scoring once in a 2-1 win against Motherwell.

Miovski, 23, warned every time a rival for the Premiership’s top scorer scores it only fires him up beat them.

Bojan Miovski scores from the spot to make it 2-0 against Kilmarnock at Pittodrie.

He said: “My target is to be top scorer in the league.

“Every striker thinks about this and dreams about this.

“When they (Colak and Furuhashi) score they push me to play better.

“When I see them scoring goals it pushes me on to score even more goals and be top scorer.”

‘I like the style Aberdeen play’

A marquee signing in the summer, Miovski was secured in a £535,000 transfer from Hungarian club MTK Budapest.

It was the biggest outlay by the Dons in a rebuild that cost in excess of £1.5m in transfer fees.

Miovski is already beginning to repay that investment.

Aberdeen have scored 15 goals in four home Premiership games this season and Miovski believes their attacking style can help him top the scoring charts.

The striker insists manager Jim Goodwin and the club presented their plan to play attacking football during signing negotiations.

When he saw Goodwin’s blueprint Miovski knew he would score regularly with the Dons.

Bojan Miovski is fouled by Zach Hemming and a penalty is awarded to Aberdeen.

He said: “They showed me the plan of playing attacking football.

“For me as a striker that’s perfect and I knew I would score goals if I signed for Aberdeen.

“I like the style Aberdeen play more than last season in Hungary.

“I am enjoying it and I have a good connection with all of the players.

“It’s nice to score all the goals I have scored and I hope I can continue like this.

“We play attacking football and score a lot of goals – not only me, but all of the team.

“I am happy and I hope it continues.”

‘I wanted to score a hat-trick’

Miovski was on international duty with North Macedonia during the recent UEFA Nations League group games.

He faced gruelling journeys and started a 2-0 group loss away to Georgia on Friday September 23.

Just three days later the Dons striker started a home 1-0 loss to Bulgaria.

Although on a hat-trick Miovski was substituted in the 66th minute, replaced by Luis ‘Duk’ Lopes.

He anticipated being replaced to reduce the risk of injury due to the time spent travelling whilst on international duty.

Aberdeen’s Bojan Miovski celebrates as he makes it 4-0 against Livingston.

Miovski said: “I wanted to score a hat-trick, but I have been travelling a lot with the national team for two or three days before.

“For me, getting 60-65 minutes was perfect.

“I didn’t want any risk of getting injured.

“I knew the manager would sub me because of the travel.”
