Recently appointed Hearts boss Derek McInnes, a former Aberdeen manager, hopes to sign star striker Lawrence Shankland on a new deal.

Hearts captain Shankland is out of contract at Tynecastle and yet to accept a new deal offered.

West Brom and two Saudi Arabia teams are keen on Shankland.

McInnes has admitted there will come a point where Hearts will ultimately have to move on to other options if Shankland does not sign a new contract.

And  McInnes is reportedly keeping close tabs on Nisbet as a potential alternative if Shankland moves on.

Aberdeen travel to Hearts in their first Premiership game of the season on Monday, August 4 (8pm).
